Who the AI answer engines are naming — measured on our own rig, dated, with the denominators showing. A new pulse lands every Monday.

Everett, WA — water damage · measured October 18, 2026

How this was measured: seven questions a homeowner asks mid-flood — none of them naming a company — put to four AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode): 28 answers. Google AI Overview returned no answer on any question and is excluded.

Who the answers named, of 28:

  • SERVPRO — named in 20 of 28 answers (71%)
  • PuroClean — 11
  • Roto-Rooter — 9
  • Green State Restoration — 8
  • PureDry Restoration — 8 (named in 29% of answers; cited in 5, 18%)
  • Waterline Restoration — 7
  • Bio Clean — 5
  • Northwest Restoration — 5
  • ServiceMaster by SRS — 2 (named in 7%; cited in 3, 11%)

One answer is worth a second look: on a Gemini answer, PureDry’s own Everett page appeared in the source list — while the answer itself named three other companies. Cited is not the same as named.

Snapshot, not a census: one sample, taken October 18, 2026. Rates move as the engines’ indexes change. A citation is a shortlist, not a job.
